September is a great time to have a windsurfing or a kitesurfing holiday. Yes, most of Caribbean and Northern American destinations are either in the middle of a hurricane season or have inconsistent winds at this time of the year. But dont get discouraged, just yet. There is an awesome place in Brazil which has become a kiteboarding and windsurfing paradise. Nicknamed "The FlatWaterSea beautiful Ilha do Guajir is a new hot spot for wind water sports.

Greek Cycladic Islands in the Aegean Sea are spectacular and windy this time of the year and the best of them is Naxos Island. The strong, dry north winds of the Aegean Sea called Meltem blow here from about mid-May to mid-September. Usually the wind starts in the early morning reaching 1620 knots by 11:30 a.m. Later in the afternoon it can pick up to 30 knots when an additional sea breeze kicks in. The wind dies out at sun set.

There are three windsurfing and three kitesurfing schools/shops in Aruba. All are in the Fishermans Huts area or within few hundreds meters. Vela and its kitesurfing branch Dare2Fly , Aruba Kitesurfing School, then there is Armandos Kite Shack which is followed by a windsurfing shop and school called Aruba Active Vacations. About 500 meters North and just across the street you will find another windsurfing oasis called Sailboard Vacations.

Here are some updates on the beaches around Cabarete area. The mouth of the Yasica River called La Boca is one alternative to get a smooth ride on flat water even during the wave season in Cabarete.
