Kiteboarding in Kailua, Oahu
Whenever people talk about Hawaii they usually mean Maui for windsurfing or kiting. We all have heard how great Maui is; I say forget Maui, unless you are a pro. Oahu is my favorite Hawaiian destination. There are more places to windsurf or kitesurf than just about anywhere. You can find the perfect place no matter your skill or preference. Check out Kailua you will find everything from flat shallow water behind flat island, wave out on the reef and amazing open water bump and jump conditions. Make sure to check out the North shore; stop at Sunset beach, the world famous Pipeline, and little known Mokuleia beach. On the south, you have to try Diamond head. I just got back from 3 weeks and kited everyday until sunset. Take two kites 9 and 14 and you are set. Windsurfers look out for your fins some areas are shallow (just ask the locals, they speak American ;)
You can stay just about anywhere everything is close within 20 min.
